Biography

I am a Maori Contemporary artist based in Canterbury, New Zealand.

I
studied Te Whare Toi/Maori Design and Art at Te Wananaga O Raukawa, in Otaki where I learned various skills from painting to raranga. This gave me a great foundation and appreciation which I develop upon everyday.

I am very passionate about
sustainability and enjoy learning about natural fibres, their origins and uses. I create traditional and non traditional Kakahu and kete, I have a deep passion for creating artworks that inspire, challenge or initiate change.

I am involved with various community groups, festivals and activities that I co ordinate, tutor and participate in.

I have been featured in various New Zealand publications, such as the national Mana Magazine and my work has been on the front cover of two “Taking Care of Business” guides as well as on the Living Channel and “Tu Wera” a youth pop culture programme on Maori television.

"I have a passion for life and am constantly inspired by places and people around me. Every time I pick up a paint brush, I tell a story.  I hope you enjoy my interpretation of life through art"
